No Where to turn….

Have you ever had a time you just did not know where to turn? Life was just closing in and you wished for someone to talk to. These are the time when you start going through a list of people and evaluating if you can trust them, can you really talk to them about any thing?

I recently was going through one of these times. I wanted to talk to someone—I wanted someone who could under stand what I was going through. Someone to tell me everything would be alright—someone to fix it. I wanted someone who was for me ---I really did not want empty advice –or the one up response. You know the friend –the one who always has it worse that you do. I needed and wanted someone who was there for me. I remember thinking I really want to talk to my Dad—but this was not something a grown adult talks to her Daddy about. I needed more.

The feelings I had were that of being lonely. I wanted to cry at every thought. I felt as if nothing could make anything okay. I went thorough months of frustration and hopelessness. I desperately needed someone to notice I was in pain –someone to care about me –to cherish me-- to help me—to be there for me---to hold me---to love me---and to let me know I was going to be okay.

Then it hit me…I was looking in the wrong place—I was looking here on earth for a friend, a loved one, someone, any one—I was looking for my Dad –I was looking for my Father --my heavenly father! My Abba—my friend, my maker and redeemer. The one I needed was my Lord and creator –the one who knows me best. I was looking for the only Dad that could truly make everything on heaven and earth okay!

What I forgot was I can tell him anything –he is there for me. He is the one who created me. He says “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalms 139:14. It says, “He has searched me and he knows me…He knows when I rise and when I sit” Psalms 139:1-3. His word says “I am here for you” Number 6:26. He says “I am loved” 1 John 4: 11-12. He says “I am his “Isaiah 43:1. He tells me not to fear (Psalm 46: 2). He tells me to give my troubles to him (Psalms 55:22). He tells me everything will be okay (Psalm 46:1). He says he will guide me (Psalms 139:10). He tells me to come to him and all my needs will be met. He tells me “I will never thirst again” John 4:14.

Father God,

I need you today. I feel alone and lost. I need to feel your arms around me –I know you are there. Hold me today –let’s just chat a while. I really need someone to talk to today…. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I know this is all no big deal for you. You are awesome. I am going to give this to you---I have faith that you are in control. Thank you for being there—thank you Dad for all that you have given me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Closer

Paradise seems so far away.
Learning & growing everyday

Seeing the world through your eyes...
How amazing are the skies!

All of creation in a week...
Why do I feel so meek?

I try to hear you all the time
I know you came for peace to be mine.

Your love so pure, your life for me
My sin forgiven, how can it be?

The beauty you bring, a love so true
Everyday, I want to be with you!

With each minute you show your face,
I am beginning to understand the meaning of grace.

My Lord, My Saviour ~ your heart is mine...
Hold me close to you all of the time!
